Lake Achensee in summer

Achensee is the biggest lake of  Tyrol and presents itself as a real holiday paradise during summer. Tyrols sport-& vitality park is not just a paradise for families, hikers, runners, also for  biking adventures, water enthusiasts as well as nature lovers. More than 500 km (310 miles) of  hiking paths, 250 km  of cycling routes and 183 km of running tracks  are available at Lake Achensee. More outdoor opportunities are climbing, play tennis or you get the chance to rent e-bikes in every village . Lake Achensee is the home of many Tyrolean and international golf players. Two excellently groomed golf courses and various international events have made the region known in the world of golf.

Hiking and biking adventures:

Gaisalm

The Gaisalm is a modern mountain cottage and is located around 1,5 hours from Pertisau. It is especially popular for children because there is a playground located. Further you can use the steam boat to go back to Pertisau. It is also possible to make a stopover at “Scholastika” there is also a big playground with water and a lot of other fun things. You can reach “Scholastika” by steam boat, car or public transportations. You can also find some good restaurants up there.

Gramaialm

Another great destination for bike and hike is the Gramaialm. It is around 2 hours and around 8 km away from Pertisau by walk.. With the bike you need about 45 minutes. There is a big playground and a petting zoo with geese, goats and pigs. There is also a restaurant with good food.

Feilalm

The Feilalm is a mountain cottage and is located above Pertisau.  From Pertisau you need around 2 hours by walk you can also go with  (e-) bike to the Feilalm which takes about 1,5 hours.  Above the snack station (0,5 hour by walk) is the peak with a wonderful panorama and you can also see the Achensee lake and the nature with the many facets.

Dalfazalm

Another beautiful excursion destination is the Dalfazalm. From the mountain station of the Rofanseilbahn you need around 1,5 hours. It is a good way with infants and children. More or less in the middle of the route is a small area with wooden loungers and from there you can see the Achensee lake and the beautiful mountains. Maybe you’re a lucky one and you can discover some chamois or ibex.  On the way back you can use the Rofanseilbahn, or you can walk back, from the cottage it  is a direct way back in the valley and on the way there  you can take a break on the Dalfazer-Wasserfall this is a big and beautiful waterfall in the middle of the forest and is children friendly because there are a lot of things to see and do.

Buchauer Alm

A place to be is also the Buchauer Alm which you can reach by (e-)bike and by foot. From the Rofanseilbahn (Valley Station) you need around 1 hour and 10 minutes by walk, by (e-) bike it takes around 45 minutes. The  Buchauer – cottage is very good for a small hike (also with infants) and you can have a nice break up there with good food and drinks.  From there you have a beautiful view to the mountains around and you can also see the Achensee lake.

Atoll

After all the hiking and biking adventures is the Atoll a good choice. The Atoll is a new-build wellness spa at the beginning of the Achensee lake. With an indoor and outdoor  infinity pool, an private access to the lake, a gym, a sauna area and a penthouse spa with sea view. There is also a good restaurant.
